Description

As an Accountant at Sustainability Engineering Group, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records and ensuring the accuracy of our financial transactions. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and understanding of accounting principles will be vital to our continued success.

 

About the job:
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and record all company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices, track payments, and manage vendor relationships. Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
  • Accounts Receivable: Generate and send invoices to clients, follow up on outstanding payments, and record receipts accurately.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing, including calculating and recording employee hours, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing and filing various tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to assist management in making informed decisions.
  • Documentation and Record Retention: Maintain organized and well-documented financial files, both electronically and in hard copy, in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred (but not mandatory).
  • 5 years’ experience working in accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance is a plus.
