As a professional Engineer for over 18 years, Ali has successfully managed the production of a variety of public and private projects in the western U.S.
Ali is committed to continual research and contributions to the LEED program in civil engineering applications. Ali reviews all specifications for environmentally friendly products, and his best management practices incorporate green alternatives. SEG considers natural solutions for erosion and dust control in design applications. Ali’s research includes economically feasible bio-solutions for treating storm water and grey water. Ali founded SEG based on the principle “LEEDing and Developing Smart Projects.”
As Principal and Project Manager, Ali has successfully managed the production of many hydraulic/hydrology projects, public roadway projects, and land development projects in Arizona for both Maricopa County and State of Arizona Transportation Departments’ on-call engineering contracts. Ali requires value engineering at the start of all projects to ensure successful realization of budget and timeline goals. He determines, monitors and reviews costs, operational budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements for project teams.

With over 30 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry, Steve personally ensures that Quality Assurance protocols are maintained on all SEG projects. In his five years with SEG, Steve has worked on public, residential, industrial, automotive, and power generation projects.
During the document checking process, Steve performs Value Engineering reviews to ensure the most economical construction methods and materials are specified. To maintain the highest quality and efficiency of design, Steve reviews all construction documents, specifications, reports, and correspondence prior to submittal to clients and reviewing agencies.
Steve’s personal philosophy and commitment to the highest quality standards has defined his role at SEG as a leader in acquiring, mentoring, and retaining talented staff to meet client needs and SEG goals. He works in a committee environment with SEG staff to develop corporate standards and protocols throughout the project process.
Steve’s accessibility builds excellent client relationships through the design and construction processes. He works closely with clients in project planning, permitting, budgeting, and scheduling.
Doug is a registered civil engineer bringing 25 years of municipal and 14 years of private sector experience to SEG. His strengths include oversight of development processes from conceptual planning to construction, open communication, and alternative design considerations.
As a civil engineer with the City of Scottsdale’s Capital Project Management group, he implemented a construction document review process providing quality assurance and compliance with the applicable design codes and obtained considerable experience with the design and construction of streets, trailheads, parks, libraries, fire stations, reservoirs, reclamation plants, pump stations, water transmission lines, lift stations, wastewater trunk lines, storm drains, culverts and bridges. Doug is proficient at coordinating plans sets across the civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, irrigation, and dry utility disciplines.
As a principal engineer in the City’s Water Resources Department, he proactively assisted and directed developers, property owners, and engineers on the requirements and potential solutions to keep projects moving forward. He likes open communication and freely utilized resources in the City’s planning, financial services, legal, transportation, storm water, fire, plan review, water wastewater operations, water conservation, and field inspection services divisions.
Doug’s project experience in Colorado and Arizona includes master planned communities, resorts, residential properties, commercial centers, state land planning, roadways, military bases, and industrial sites. Doug is proficient at developing agreements and preparing easements, plats, and specifications and reviewing construction product data, schedules, and geotechnical reports.
Dave has more than 30 years of airport experience in the state of Arizona. He has continuously been involved with the design of private and public-sector projects since the mid-1980s. He has provided engineering services to many of Scottsdale’s major planned communities including Greyhawk, Whisper Rock, The Boulders, Troon and Troon North, and Windgate Ranch. He is very familiar with design standards and review procedures and has worked with City staff and project stakeholders including homeowner’s associations to resolve issues relating to project development.
Dave has successfully served as project manager for on-call, multi-year engagements, and individual projects at general aviation airports throughout the state of Arizona. His involvement has included the design and construction administration of both air and landside projects as well as preparation of special studies and technical reports. Dave has been involved with the Arizona Department of Transportation’s Airport Pavement Preservation Program since its inception.

Bob is a well versed registered architect professional with over 20 years of diversified experience. As Lead Architect at SEG, he has completed numerous retail, restaurant and fuel center site plans and structures.
Prior to starting at SEG, Bob performed all phases of design and construction processes for public and private work in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, California, and Haiti. Bob has extensive architectural project management experience in various construction markets including healthcare, commercial, residential, public municipalities, justice, and higher education.
In 2011, Bob was awarded ENR’s “Best of the Best” project for his Solar Thermal Hot Water Heating System for Maricopa County Facilities Management – Lower Buckeye / 4th Avenue Jails, in Phoenix, AZ.
Outside of his architectural role, Bob is a key contributor to SEG’s branding, marketing, and website design.
Since joining SEG, Jonathan has flourished as an Architecture Job Captain, working closely with the team and clients.
Prior to joining SEG, Jonathan worked as a Design Associate and project lead for the City of Houston’s Disaster Recovery Round 2 following damage from 2008’s Hurricane Ike. During this time, he prepared construction documents for over 70 individual homes, and developed and implemented processes for projects located within 100 and 500 year floodplains.
Jonathan has a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Oregon.
As an experienced civil designer for over 16 years Scott brings insight to the design and drafting process. He has continuously been involved with the design of private and public-sector projects since 2003.
Prior to joining SEG, Scott’s experience involved being lead designer of single family homes for master planned communities in California and Hawaii.
Maher is a recent graduate from ASU. In her role as Junior Engineer, Maher assists senior team members in the design of fast food restaurants, assisted living, major retail and residential projects.
As a graduate student at ASU, Maher was a research assistant developing a web-based tool to assist decision makers in choosing a project delivery method for water/wastewater treatment plant projects. As an undergraduate student, Maher interned with prominent construction firms in Lebanon where he gained valuable experience.

Ana recently graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. In her role as Junior Engineer, Ana assists senior team members in the design of fuel centers, assisted living, major retail and residential projects.
Here at SEG Cassy’s main role is to help with each and every project, to ensure that our office runs smoothly. She assist everyone at the office and makes sure that project keep moving. Her main job is working on the design of dry utilities. Cassandra is also one of our Health and Wellness Leaders here at SEG. She is the one who is in charge of all of our office work outs and even our challenges. She also helps the office staff eat healthier and keeps them on the right track.
